Network Engineer (2)

Position Summary:

Wireless Network Engineer to support and maintain the wireless network supporting the various customers being supported with the Wifi 6 or 802.11ax. This includes but not limited to monitoring, preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) and troubleshooting with access points supported by this contract. Completing documentation of all incidents in the government approved system

Essential Functions:

• Configuring and maintaining wireless network equipment

• Network management and security including 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax standards and industry best practices for implementing high-density WIFI solutions.

• Assess, plan, and develop for several operations capabilities for wireless telecommunications.

• Managing technical functions, testing equipment, handling repairs, managing engineering projects, and conducting site inspections.

• Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI)

• Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues

• Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise

• Oversee repairs and technical improvements

• Ensure proper maintenance of on-site equipment

Other Functions:

• Other duties assigned by supervisor/manager.

Office / Warehouse conditions.

As assigned by supervisor/manager.

Equipment/Technology Used (Other than Standard Office Equipment):

Equipment as needed to support ­­­­­ITCC efforts. A scissor lift will be provided by the customer.

Physical Demands:

Able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to work at heights in excess of 20 feet.

Mental Demands:

Able to perform all tasks as required by contractor or supervisor. Able to multi-task.

Communication Demands:

Able to communicate (i.e., verbal and written) with all levels of personnel both internally and externally.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (In Addition to Physical, Mental, and Communication Demands Listed Above):

Education:

Preferred: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field.

Experience:

• Prefer at least three years of related experience and/or training on wireless network environments.

• Hands on experience with Wi-Fi engineering.

• Wired network experience a plus

Security Clearance Requirements

• Active Interim Secret or Secret level clearance

Skills/Knowledge

• Through wireless network engineer training, they should become adept with wireless technologies, such as Wi-Fi, WiMax, and WAP. Wireless Network Engineer Training should have a thorough knowledge of 802.11n and 802.11a. They should be able to understand scripting languages, such as Bash, Perl or Python.

Required Certification:

• CompTia Security +
