Required Skills & Experience
1+ year of experience related manufacturing, welding, quality inspection, or testing experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience operating pneumatic and power tools.

Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Weld Destruct Technician to join a manufacturing client. This individual will perform destructive and nondestructive testing on welded materials, parts, and products to evaluate weld quality, performance, and conformance to specifications.
The Weld Destruct Technician will use pneumatic and power tools to break apart welds, inspect materials, complete measurements, document failures, and communicate quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or production team. This position requires someone who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, comfortable working with industrial equipment, and able to accurately record and report testing results.
Day-to-Day
Perform destructive and nondestructive tests on welded materials, parts, and finished products.
Operate hand and power tools, including air chisels, air hammers, chop saws, plasma cutters, grinders, hammer drills, pry bars, cutters, and bench vises.
Use cutters, grinders, and press equipment to break welds for testing.
Perform acid and measurement testing using nitric acid and a lecoscope.
Use calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify weld quality.
Inspect materials and products for conformance to specifications.
Identify, document, and report defective or nonconforming materials.
Communicate part failures to Weld Technicians and supervisors for equipment repair or service.
Enter testing data into engineering-provided graphs, charts, and computer programs.
Evaluate testing results and prepare reports identifying compliance with or deviations from established standards.
Support production teams by containing suspect or defective materials to prevent further processing.
Participate in corrective actions, preventative actions, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Complete required paperwork and submit testing records to the supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, quality, and training requirements
Compensation:
$19/hr to $21/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
