Temp Billing Coder

Job Title: Temp Billing Coder Location: Tulsa, OK Type: Contract Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Security Clearance: Not specified

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts, records, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Assign accurate medical codes for hospital surgeries and Interventional Radiology services
• Ensure all coding is current, active, and compliant with applicable regulations
• Identify and report missing, incomplete, or insufficient documentation
• Perform accurate charge entry and coding updates
• Apply appropriate modifiers and ensure correct coding of provider documentation
• Follow federal, state, payer, and commercial coding guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with team members to resolve coding discrepancies as needed

Requirements

• Medical Coding Certification required CPC (Certified Professional Coder) through AAPC required
• Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding regulations
• Experience with hospital surgery coding and/or Interventional Radiology coding preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
