Production Operator- Weekly Pay- Start ASAP

Pay: $20-$23/hour

Location: Mitchell, SD

Schedule: Multiple open shifts

This role operates and supports finishing and gluing equipment in a high-volume production environment. You will set up, run, and troubleshoot multiple glue systems and finishing machines while following safety, quality, and production standards. The position suits candidates with prior machine operation or production experience and strong mechanical aptitude who are comfortable working with tools, basic computer systems, and rotating or fixed shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Operate finishing and gluer machines safely and efficiently to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Set up and adjust machine settings for gluing operations, including Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems, to ensure accurate and consistent output.
• Perform troubleshooting on finishing machines and glue systems to resolve minor mechanical or operational issues and minimize downtime.
• Use hand and power tools such as allen wrenches, screwdrivers, and related tools to perform machine make-ready, adjustments, and basic maintenance.
• Monitor production processes, inspect output for quality, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product specifications.

Essential Skills:

• 12 years of machine operator or production experience, or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude, including comfort working with machinery and mechanical components.
• Entry-level computer skills, including the ability to learn and use systems such as SAP, RF Gen, and Ignition.
• Ability to set up and troubleshoot finishing machines and gluer equipment, including Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems.
• Working knowledge of finishing machines (gluer) and related production equipment.
• Experience using hand and power tools such as allen wrenches, screwdrivers, and other tools needed for machine make-ready.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Feeder/Inspector experience in a production or printing environment is preferred.
• Mechanical experience such as automotive repair, small engine repair, or similar hands-on work is helpful.
• General production or printing machine experience is an advantage.
• Comfort working with general production tools and equipment.
• Willingness to train on day shift initially and then transition to rotating or fixed evening/night shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and quality when inspecting products and monitoring machine performance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and follow established processes.

Work Environment:

This role is based in an indoor production and finishing facility with active machinery and a fast-paced workflow. You will work around production equipment that generates heat, humidity, and noise, with temperatures reaching up to approximately 100 degrees in the summer. Hearing protection is required in finishing areas, and steel-toed boots are mandatory from the first day; boot costs are reimbursed after permanent hire.

This is a Contract position based out of Mitchell, SD.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
