Quality/ Reliability Engineer- Electrical / Electronic

Position Description:

*** ***As this position is fully onsite, the customer may request in-person interviews.

*** This is an Agency position for Michigan Assembly Plant (MAP) Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) with focus on Bronco and Ranger programs.

Candidate will be responsible for V18 Electrical hardware, V42 Transmission controls and V70 Interior switches quality issues.

The Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of the client Product Development organization.

The PVT Engineer is 'first line of defense' with regards to quality and has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the Quality of the vehicles.

Additional Information:

***Position Is Fully Onsite / 5 days per week at Michigan Assembly plant in Wayne MI.

*** Drive interim (ICA) and permanent (PCA) corrective actions on customer quality concerns from Warranty, Executive Escalations, social media, and Technical Hotline.

Own resolution of customer-critical issues and reduce warranty:

– Analyze warranty claims (review claims, contact dealerships, use connected vehicle data, confirm parts return/analysis).

– Bin claims and track improvement actions via Quality AI IRIS/SIMPSN.

– Develop/manage/own SIMPSN projects to document quality improvements for the Vehicle Line.

– Coordinate containment support with VFG quality quarterbacks and Functional Quality Reviews (FQR).

– Use internal/external quality data to build ICA/PCA for in-plant and warranty concerns.

• Support the Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for FH sub-systems, partner with STA engineers and suppliers on supplier quality issues.
• Identify and deliver current model design projects with core/VFG leader support.
• Initiate/support WERS Concerns (CR) and alerts for design changes and plant trials.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with supervisor/peers while balancing shifting daily/weekly demands.
• Collaborate with VRT counterparts at Dearborn Truck Plant on shared issue identification and containment.
• Lead plant trials for quality, cost, and supplier improvements.
• Support resolution of stop ships/builds, campaigns, quality and ergonomic issues, and First Time Through (FTT) issues.
• Participate in daily binning and plant quality meetings, biweekly VRT report-outs, and monthly Vehicle Quality Reviews.
• Support Major and Minor program launches.
• Use DET and FDRS tools to assist vehicle triage.

Skills Required:

Six Sigma Methodology, Troubleshooting (Problem Solving)

1. Six Sigma Methodology – Black or green belt certified , should be able to drive problem solving using 8D’s and 5WHYS.

2. Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) – Should be able to read electrical schematics and drawings.

Skills Preferred:

Team Center, WERS

1. Team Center – Should be able to pull up vehicle components using CAD/ Team Center.

2. WERS - Experience in WERS system writing alerts and releasing parts.

Experience Required 3+years
