Feed Mill Operator
Location: Purina Feed?
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour?
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM?
Overtime: Occasional weekends and overtime required based on business needs
Required PPE: Steel or Composite Toe Boots
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Feed Mill Operator to support daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have prior feed mill and forklift experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while meeting production goals.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering long-term career potential with a leading manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Operate feed mill and other heavy industrial production equipment safely and efficiently.
Meet daily production and quality goals.
Perform routine equipment monitoring and basic operational adjustments.
Operate forklifts to move materials and finished products throughout the facility.
Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout and at the end of each shift.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
Complete production records and other documentation as required.
Assist with additional duties and special projects assigned by management.
Qualifications Required
2+ years of manufacturing, production, or feed mill experience.
Previous forklift experience and forklift certification.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Comfortable working at heights greater than 5 feet.
Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and industrial environments.
Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic computer and math skills.
Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
Must pass a background check.
Preferred
Previous feed manufacturing experience.
Experience troubleshooting production equipment.
Strong safety awareness and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including clearing bins and production equipment.
Visual acuity required for equipment operation and quality monitoring.
