Machine Shop Operator

We're looking for an experienced machinist to join our high-volume machine shop. In this role, you'll set up and run CNC machines, perform quality inspections, move materials, and support a variety of machining operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working on different machines and solving problems throughout the production process.

• Perform machining operations such as cutting, drilling, grinding, boring, reaming, and deburring.
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts.
• Move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Complete quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Read blueprints, work instructions, and control plans.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot production and quality issues.
• Operate support equipment such as wash tanks.
• Assist on different machines and work areas as production needs change.

• Manufacturing or machine shop experience.
• Experience operating production machinery; CNC experience preferred.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Basic math skills and ability to work with tolerances.
• Experience operating forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and measurements accurately.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible and willing to work on different machines as needed.

• 1st shift: 7:30am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday) // $24.47
• 2nd shift: 3:30pm - 11:30pm (Monday - Friday) // $25.33
• 3rd shift: 11:30pm - 7:30am (Sunday - Thursday) // $25.33

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.

The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
