Steel Loadout Supervisor

Pay: Starting at $26.00/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience
Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Steel Loadout Supervisor to coordinate shipping and material-handling activities in a structural steel fabrication environment. This role combines hands-on leadership with responsibility for safe loading, accurate shipments, team coordination, and meeting delivery deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily steel loadout and shipping activities.
- Make sure steel and other materials are properly loaded, secured, identified, and ready for shipment.
- Check material markings, quantities, load details, and shipping paperwork for accuracy.
- Work with production, logistics, and shop personnel to coordinate scheduled deliveries.
- Complete and maintain load tickets and shipping records using production/shipping software.
- Train and assist new employees with shipping and loadout procedures.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and reinforce required safety practices.
- Monitor workflow and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
- Provide hands-on direction to the shipping team in a busy manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in structural steel material handling or shipping.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience operating:
- Overhead cranes
- Telehandlers
- Vertical mast lifts
- Forklifts
- Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar production/shipping software preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
