Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Inspect metal plates and materials using precision measuring tools to verify thickness, width, length, and flatness against customer specifications.
• Accurately complete inspection reports for material traceability documentation (heat numbers, test numbers, and/or lot numbers).
• Identify and report nonconforming or out-of-tolerance materials to the lead or supervisor immediately.
• Maintain accurate, legible records for every batch inspected.
• Communicate discrepancies or quality concerns clearly and promptly.
• Follow all safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a machine shop or metal inspection environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of non-digital (analog/mechanical) micrometers preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret basic specifications, tolerances, and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of surface finishes and flatness requirements.
• Ability to handle multiple jobs and prioritize effectively across a team, not just individually.
• Prior experience leading a shift with minimal direct supervision from ownership/management.

1st Shift: Monday- Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
