Your expertise drives quality and delivery for hightolerance components. You’ll be the goto for 5axis setups, tooling choices, and process refinements that keep our dayshift operations humming.
Impact You’ll Make
- Own the setup and operation of 5axis CNC milling equipment
- Run work on DMG Mori platforms and similar multiaxis machines
- Decipher blueprints, models, and specifications to plan machining strategies
- Install and verify tooling, establish work offsets, and optimize fixturing
- Validate tolerances with precision metrology and take corrective actions when needed
- Adjust programs, offsets, and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency
- Diagnose and resolve machining issues promptly
- Champion safe work habits and standardized procedures
What Sets You Up for Success
- Direct experience with 5axis CNC milling
- Demonstrated CNC setup capability
- Fluency reading and working from technical drawings
- Comfort with micrometers, calipers, and a range of gauges
- Deep knowledge of tooling, speeds/feeds, tolerancing, and machining methods
- DMG Mori background strongly preferred; equivalent 5axis experience valued
- Strong mechanical instincts, precision focus, and a drive for quality
Technical Fluency
- GD&T interpretation
- CNC tooling selection and use
- CNC programming concepts
- Gcode and Mcode fundamentals
- CNC machine setup and changeover
- Precision measurement and hand metrology
- Advanced inspection and gauge measurement
- Setting up machines for production runs
Equipment & Software Environment
- 3–4 Axis VMCs: DMG Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, Haas, Okuma
- CAM Suites: Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, Autodesk Fusion 360, Siemens NX
- 5+ Axis VMCs: DMG Mori Seiki, Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Matsuura, Mikron
