Clinical Support Secretary

Full Time role, 40 hrs. week

(8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm)

OR

Part Time role, 20 hrs. week

Not a remote position

Every 4th weekend, 2 holidays per year

Does require full time, 8am - 5pm orientation for a number of weeks

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists within and across the functions of admissions, home hospice and spiritual care to maximize effective and efficient coordination of resources through the following areas of responsibility to best address the needs of patientsand families seeking and receiving hospice care.

Maintains a high level of customer service to all callers including patients, families, contracted providers, organizationstaff and volunteers.

Assures all incoming calls are courteously and promptly answered.

Communicates effectively with organizational staff, physicians, patients, visitors, outside contractors and communityagencies.

Provides secretarial functions such as faxing, typing, and copying.

Utilizes organization approved translation services as needed.

Access third-party EHR systems as needed.

Works in collaboration with Carolyn's House, IPC, HH, spiritual care, volunteer, finance, and interdepartmental staff.

Maintains adequate supplies of medication labels

Manages inventory of lock boxes, locking medication boxes, patient monitors and other patient care support items.

Processes physician orders, certifications, renewal PPOC and addendums per regulatory requirements.

Receives details of death information and processes in a timely manner.

Processes necessary forms and notifications to DME company, pharmacy, nursing homes, hospitals, and otherproviders.

Serves as the liaison for the team with the DME companies to order all equipment.

Provides clerical support of medical supply orders.

Maintains and orders medical supply inventory

Assists with follow-up of database outstanding orders

Collaborates with and supports processing of physician letters and orders.

Schedules continuous home care.

Supports scheduling of clinical procedures/tests and scheduling of transportation.

Prepares schedules.

Assists with room reservation needs

Assists with the creation and maintenance of calendars and forms

Assists with data collection, audits, and reports

Maintains Suncoast Solutions databases, including patients, physicians, nursing facilities, hospitals, pharmacies and funeral homes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate or GED required.

Computer experience required
