Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience

Job Summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a growing laboratory in McAllen, TX to identify an experienced LCMS Operator to join their analytical laboratory team.

The LCMS Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) instrumentation. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented laboratory professional with hands-on experience operating LC-MS/MS systems in a clinical, toxicology, pharmaceutical, or analytical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain LC-MS/MS instrumentation for routine laboratory testing
• Perform sample preparation, extraction, and processing prior to analysis
• Prepare reagents, calibrators, controls, and standards
• Perform instrument calibration, quality control, and system suitability testing
• Monitor instrument performance and troubleshoot routine analytical issues
• Review analytical data for accuracy, quality, and completeness
• Identify and address instrument or assay issues and escalate complex problems as needed
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
• Follow established SOPs, quality assurance procedures, and laboratory safety requirements
• Assist with validation, verification, and implementation of new methods as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership and other technical staff to ensure accurate and timely results

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field preferred
• 1+ years of hands-on LC-MS/MS experience preferred
• Experience with sample preparation and analytical laboratory workflows
• Strong understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry principles
• Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and identify analytical problems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative laboratory environment
• Clinical toxicology, pharmaceutical, forensic, or other analytical laboratory experience is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
