Design the power systems that keep production facilities running.
Cortex is a full-discipline engineering, procurement, and construction management firm serving food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and heavy industrial clients. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to design power distribution systems, from low-voltage to high-voltage equipment and grounding, and to see that work through startup in the field.
What you'll do
- Design electrical power distribution systems, MCCs, and control panels, and produce electrical schematics in AutoCAD
- Research and analyze client requests related to power infrastructure, then help shape the right solution
- Work alongside our electrical and mechanical engineers to design integrated systems
- Take part in project planning, cost development, and scheduling
- Develop and test startup of power equipment as projects require
- Troubleshoot power equipment in the field
- Talk directly with clients, vendors, and stakeholders
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field)
- 1+ years of experience in power distribution design
- Working knowledge of power infrastructure design, including grounding
- Ability to read and critically evaluate drawings, schematics, and system designs
- Strong communication skills, since you'll work closely with both teammates and clients
- Comfort managing tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam
Nice to have
- Experience in a factory or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with GMP environments
