In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced grading crews on projects throughout the Charleston area, including commercial sites, highways, interstates, ports, and other major infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

As a Light Equipment Operator, you’ll operate a variety of equipment and support daily grading operations on active jobsites.

Equipment may include:

• Sweeper trucks
• Rollers
• Front-end loaders
• Backhoes
• Off-road trucks
• Other light grading equipment

You’ll also:

• Perform grading and sitework activities on heavy civil construction projects
• Operate equipment safely around crews, traffic, and active jobsites
• Prepare and stabilize soil and other materials
• Use hand tools and power tools when needed
• Help clean and prepare jobsites
• Dig trenches, set braces, clean debris, and support excavation work
• Maintain equipment and keep it in good working condition
• Communicate with your crew to meet safety, production, and quality goals
• Assist with other duties as directed by the site supervisor

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, and ready to be part of a hardworking team.

• Has 2–3 years of equipment operating experience
• Has a valid driver’s license
• Has experience operating equipment on construction or sitework projects
• Is comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
• Takes safety seriously and pays attention to their surroundings
• Communicates well with crew members and supervisors
• Shows up on time and is ready to work each day
• Wants to continue learning and growing in the heavy civil construction industry

Starting Pay:$18.25/hr (Depending on Experience) + overtime opportunities
