Tin Roost in North Liberty is looking for Line Cooks to join our BOH team!
We’re looking for dependable team members who enjoy a busy kitchen, work well alongside others, and take pride in putting out great food. As a Line Cook, you’ll help keep service running smoothly by preparing menu items efficiently, consistently, and according to our kitchen standards.
Tin Roost is a locally owned restaurant serving homegrown American favorites from a scratch kitchen. Our menu includes smoked meats, burgers, breaded tenderloins, cheese curds, hearty salads, and more. With a large dining room, private events, and an expansive patio, our kitchen stays active and offers plenty of opportunities to gain experience and grow your skills.
Compensation
$15 - $22 per hour, depending on experience.
Hours & Availability
- Part-time position
- Friday night availability required
- Weekend brunch availability required
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and restaurant standards
- Set up and organize your station before service
- Keep up with orders while maintaining quality, portioning, and presentation
- Prep ingredients and replenish your station throughout the shift
- Label, date, rotate, and store food properly
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Communicate with other kitchen team members and leadership during service
- Help with food prep, inventory, product rotation, and general kitchen tasks
- Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Must be at 18 years of age or older
- Previous restaurant or line cook experience is a plus
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
- Dependable and able to consistently work scheduled shifts
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Available to work Saturdays and Sundays
- Able to stand and move for extended periods during a shift
- Able to regularly lift and carry up to 40 pounds
