Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience building modern web or application UIs using React, Angular, or similar frameworks
Strong JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design skills
Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with real-time data
Familiarity with video streaming technologies such as HLS/DASH, media events, and browser compatibility
Strong understanding of UI performance optimization, usability, accessibility/WCAG, and cross-device compatibility
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience building UIs for Google TV and gaming/streaming devices such as PlayStation or Roku
Experience with video playback libraries such as Shaka, Video.js, HLS.js, or ExoPlayer
Experience with analytics, A/B testing, and user event tracking
Job Description
A client in the entertainment industry is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to build and enhance user-facing experiences for a free, ad-supported streaming television service across web, TV, and connected-device platforms. This engineer will develop interfaces for live and on-demand channels, including electronic program guides, channel browsing, ad-supported playback experiences, and content discovery. They will integrate frontend applications with backend APIs supporting content metadata, scheduling, advertising, and analytics, while partnering closely with product management, design, backend engineering, and QA to deliver features end to end. The role will also focus on improving streaming UX, accessibility, cross-device compatibility, application performance, and overall code quality.
