NOW HIRING – BREAD PRODUCTION OPERATOR
Schedule: 5 days per week | Sunday always off + one rotating day off Monday–Saturday
Hours: Approximately 45 hours per week. Hours over 40 are paid at the applicable overtime rate.
Pay: $16.00/hour during the first 60 days, increasing to $16.50/hour upon successful completion of the probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor bread production machinery and equipment throughout the shift.
- Maintain a consistent production flow while meeting established product specifications and production requirements.
- Perform basic machine adjustments as needed to maintain proper operation and product consistency.
- Monitor product quality, identify abnormalities, and make appropriate adjustments or report issues to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with Production Assistants to maintain an efficient workflow and proper handling of products coming off the line.
- Accurately count and record quantities produced, waste, and other required production information.
- Assist with machine setup, product changeovers, and end-of-shift procedures.
- Identify and report equipment problems or potential maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, quality control, and workplace safety procedures.
- Keep machines, tools, and surrounding production areas clean, organized, and ready for operation.
- Complete required production and cleaning records accurately.
- Support the Bread Production team with additional tasks as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate production machinery and follow established operating procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize product or equipment abnormalities.
- Good basic math, counting, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain production pace in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with assistants, supervisors, and other production employees.
- Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Previous experience operating food production, bakery, or manufacturing equipment is preferred.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment and handle products and materials.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working around moving production equipment and machinery.
- Comfortable working in an active bakery production environment where temperatures may vary.
- Ability to safely perform the physical activities necessary to operate and monitor the production line.
- Must be available for a rotating weekly schedule. Sunday is always off; the second day off will vary between Monday and Saturday.
