Position Title: Lab Technician - Servo-Hydraulic Testing - Materials Testing

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am-5pm
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate servo-hydraulic test frames for mechanical and materials testing.
- Perform fatigue, tensile, compression, cyclic, and other mechanical tests as required.
- Install and configure test fixtures, load cells, extensometers, LVDTs, and other instrumentation.
- Monitor test equipment and specimens throughout testing.
- Collect, record, and review test data for accuracy and completeness.
- Troubleshoot test equipment, hydraulic systems, instrumentation, and data-acquisition issues.
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and calibration activities on laboratory equipment.
- Assist engineers with development and modification of test setups and procedures.
- Follow written test procedures, engineering specifications, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Document test results, equipment issues, maintenance activities, and test deviations.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and clean laboratory environment.
- Work closely with engineers and other laboratory personnel to complete testing projects on schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience operating and setting up servo-hydraulic testing equipment.
- Experience with mechanical or materials testing equipment.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with instrumentation such as load cells, extensometers, LVDTs, or similar sensors.
- Ability to accurately collect, analyze, and document test data.
- Ability to read and follow technical procedures, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory safety.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with engineers and other technicians.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MTS, Instron, or comparable servo-hydraulic test systems.
- Experience with fatigue, durability, or cyclic testing.
- Experience with data-acquisition and test-control software.
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic power units, actuators, valves, and associated components.
- Technical certificate (military avionics, electro-mechanical systems), Associate degree or technical training in mechanical engineering technology, mechatronics, or equivalent experience in a mechanical or electrical related discipline.
- Experience in an engineering, materials-testing, medical-device, automotive, aerospace, structural-testing, or industrial laboratory.
Compensation & Benefits
- $45,000–$65,000 annual salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
