Overview
Optum is seeking a Jr. Full Stack Engineer to support the CuroGov initiative. This role will focus on developing and enhancing enterprise healthcare applications across the full technology stack, including frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of software development experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with React (preferred) or Angular
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud environments
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare industry experience
- Experience working in HIPAA or regulated environments
- Exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Experience improving application performance and scalability
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support full stack applications
- Build and enhance frontend components using React or Angular
- Develop backend services and REST APIs using Java/Spring Boot
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Participate in cloud deployment and application support
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and security
AI Expectations
- Regular use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms
- Leverage AI for coding assistance, testing, debugging, documentation, and productivity improvements
