The Field Supervisor oversees short-term industrial installation projects, typically lasting 12 weeks and occasionally up to 4 weeks on the road. This role leads a traveling crew of 46 field technicians while working hands-on to install ceramic adhesives and wear protection systems in industrial environments such as cement plants, baghouses, manufacturing facilities, food plants, power generation plants, steel and mining operations, and agricultural facilities. The Field Supervisor ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery while maintaining strong relationships with onsite customers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a field crew of 46 technicians on industrial construction and installation projects across multiple sites.
  • Oversee the installation of ceramic adhesives and Densit wear protection concepts in cement plants, baghouses, manufacturing plants, food plants, and other industrial facilities.
  • Work in a hands-on capacity alongside the crew, contributing directly to construction, installation, concrete work, and related field activities.
  • Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for customers, maintaining professional, customer-facing communication throughout each project.
  • Identify onsite challenges, troubleshoot issues, and provide practical solutions to customers and team members.
  • Promote and enforce safety practices, including compliance with confined space requirements and site-specific safety rules.
  • Coordinate and support field management activities, including site setup, resource allocation, and task assignments.
  • Oversee and participate in welding and MIG-related tasks as required by project scope.
  • Ensure crew members follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Travel by plane and truck to project sites across the country and adapt to varying work schedules and conditions.
  • Collaborate with shop personnel and participate in shop work when not traveling to maintain consistent weekly hours.
Essential Skills
  • Proven leadership experience supervising teams or crews in a construction or field-based environment.
  • Demonstrated field supervision and field management skills in commercial or industrial construction settings.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and onsite personnel.
  • Experience working in construction or commercial construction environments, including site construction and installation work.
  • Ability to perform hands-on duties, including installation, concrete work, and related field tasks.
  • Safety-focused mindset, with familiarity working in confined spaces and industrial environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the country by plane and truck for projects lasting 14 weeks at a time.
  • Reliability and punctuality, with consistent attendance and dependability on job sites and during travel.
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess onsite issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with crew members, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Capability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat in summer and cold in fall and winter.
  • Comfort working in industrial facilities such as cement plants, power generation plants, steel and mining operations, and agricultural facilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • MSHA certification is a plus; candidates without this certification will receive training and certification before traveling in the role.
  • Experience working in cement, steel, mining, power generation, or agricultural facilities is beneficial.
  • Welding and MIG welding experience in an industrial or construction environment is an advantage.
  • Bilingual communication skills are preferred and considered an asset in customer-facing and crew leadership situations.
  • Prior experience in a traveling role, managing crews on remote or multi-site projects, is highly valued.

Work Environment

When not traveling, employees work in a shop setting to support ongoing operations and maintain consistent hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
