Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Twinsburg, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, with plastics or extrusion experience strongly preferred.
In this role, you will operate extrusion equipment to produce high-quality thermoplastic materials according to customer specifications and production work orders. You will monitor equipment performance, make process adjustments, perform quality checks, and help maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, start, operate, and monitor extrusion equipment according to production specifications and work orders.
- Load raw materials and support mixing, drying, and feeding processes.
- Monitor machine temperatures, feed rates, controls, and overall equipment performance.
- Operate machinery in a twin-screw, high-heat production environment while following all safety procedures.
- Walk the production line regularly to inspect equipment, identify defects, and detect potential malfunctions.
- Make minor machine adjustments as needed to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and safely shut down machinery when necessary.
- Perform basic measurements, quality checks, and production-related calculations.
- Work closely with other production team members to maintain smooth daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Plastics manufacturing or extrusion experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to safely set up, start, operate, and monitor production machinery with minimal supervision.
- Basic math skills for measurements, adjustments, and quality checks.
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift.
- Ability to stand and remain active for the majority of the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Must have reliable transportation & valid driving license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating twin-screw or single-screw extruders.
- Tow motor or forklift experience.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing minor equipment adjustments.
- Basic repair or mechanical maintenance experience, such as automotive maintenance or brake replacement.
