Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Utility Facilities Project Engineer to support the design, coordination, installation, commissioning, and delivery of site-wide utility and infrastructure systems for a major $600M+ pharmaceutical manufacturing project. The engineer will work closely with design teams, construction managers, contractors, commissioning teams, and client stakeholders to ensure utility systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP and project requirements.

Important Duties:

Manage the design, coordination, and execution of mechanical utility systems across a large-scale pharmaceutical capital project.
Support domestic water, industrial water, wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater drainage, and plumbing systems.
Support chilled water, heating water, compressed air, central utility plant infrastructure, and underground utility networks.
Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders throughout all project phases.
Review engineering designs, specifications, calculations, P&IDs, utility drawings, and vendor submittals for compliance with project requirements.
Oversee utility installation activities and provide technical support during construction.
Manage interfaces between utility packages and process, HVAC, civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.
Participate in constructability reviews and identify opportunities to improve installation efficiency and reduce project risk.
Support equipment procurement, technical bid evaluations, and vendor coordination.
Monitor project progress, identify technical issues, and drive resolution to maintain schedule milestones.
Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up, and qualification activities for utility systems.
Ensure all work complies with GMP standards, safety regulations, and company engineering practices.
Assist with turnover packages, as-built documentation, and operational procedures.

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience as a Utility Facilities Project Engineer, Utilities Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Facilities Engineer, or Project Engineer within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology GMP environment.
Experience working on greenfield facility construction projects or large capital projects exceeding $100 million.
Strong knowledge of mechanical utility and facility infrastructure systems.
Experience with water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, plumbing, underground utilities, and site infrastructure.
Experience with chilled water, heating water, compressed air, and central utility plant systems.
Ability to review P&IDs, utility drawings, specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation.
Experience coordinating multiple contractors and engineering disciplines.
Familiarity with clean and critical utilities including Clean Steam, Purified Water, WFI, Process Gases, and Compressed Air.
Experience supporting utility installation, commissioning, start-up, and qualification activities in a GMP-regulated facility.
