Description
Primary responsibility is to assist production by packaging materials and products manually.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleans packaging containers.
- Lines and pads crate and assemble cartons.
- Obtains and sorts product.
- Wraps protective material around product.
- Starts, stops and regulates speed of conveyor.
- Inserts or pours product into containers or fills containers from spout or chute.
- Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
- Nails, glues or closes and seals containers.
- Labels containers, container tags or products.
- Sorts bundles or fills containers.
- Packs special arrangements or selection of product.
- Inspects material, products and containers at each step of packaging process.
- Records information such as weight, time and date packaged.
- Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials or products.
- Performs computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing or foam fabrication environment is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine functions.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and blueprints.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Must be able to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, and machine settings in English.
- Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) is a plus for effective communication on a diverse team.
