Position Summary
This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the banking and financial services industry. The intern will assist with a variety of tasks across multiple departments, providing support to staff and learning about the day-to-day operations of the Bank. This role provides a valuable learning opportunity for a current CMU student pursuing a business, finance, or related degree while contributing meaningfully to the branch’s daily operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with general administrative and clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, and document preparation.
Support customer service activities, such as answering basic customer inquiries and assisting with account-related tasks.
Assist in resolving customer concerns be escalating issues to the appropriate team and ensuring follow-up.
Assist customers at the Timberline Community Coffee bar.
Participate in projects related to financial analysis, operations, risk management, or other areas as assigned.
Help maintain accurate customer records and assist in processing transactions where applicable.
Conduct research and compile reports on various banking products, services, or industry trends.
Assist in the preparation of presentations and internal communications.
Learn about compliance regulations and procedures within the banking sector.
Collaborate with team members on day-to-day operations and contribute to department-specific tasks as needed.
Duties may be expanded on as experience and professional goals are achieved.
Required Knowledge and Expertise
Must be a current CMU student.
Pursuing a business, finance, or related degree.
Previous customer service or administrative experience is a plus but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Basic understanding of financial concepts is a plus, but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to think and work independently in a professional work environment.
Flexibility to work within a multi-discipline team and receive dynamic on-the-job training.
Ability to interact comfortably with customers.
Demonstrate initiative and strong motivation for success.
**Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules, the salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Incentives based on Timberline Team goals may also be offered.
