Nursing Unit Manager

The Nursing Unit Manager works closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned nursing unit and ensure quality, resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily nursing services and operations for the assigned unit

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies

  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including making daily assignments

  • Monitor resident care and nursing documentation for quality and accuracy

  • Ensure medications, medical supplies, and equipment are adequately stocked

  • Assist with resident assessments and care planning

  • Address staff concerns and resident/family grievances appropriately

  • Promote staff education, training, and professional development

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to support positive resident outcomes

Qualifications
  • Current Florida RN license in good standing

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in long-term care, restorative, or geriatric settings

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing management experience

  • Current CPR certification

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Must meet all applicable state licensing and certification requirements

This role requires Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening.
