Paul House & Health Care Center is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our Dietary Department. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving quality meals for residents while following established menus, dietary requirements, food-safety standards, and facility procedures.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in food preparation, works well in a team environment, and understands the importance of providing residents with safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals.

Meaningful work supporting residents and their daily needs
Prepare and cook resident meals according to established menus and recipes
Ensure meals are prepared accurately and served timely
Follow resident diet orders, including prescribed diets, food consistencies, allergies, and other dietary requirements
Prepare food in appropriate quantities while maintaining quality and portion standards
Monitor food temperatures and maintain required temperature logs
Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and food preparation area
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and dietary supplies
Monitor food quality and report supply or equipment concerns to the Dietary Manager
Follow infection-control, food-safety, and sanitation practices
Assist Dietary Aides and other dietary staff as needed
Communicate effectively with the Dietary Manager and other members of the facility team
Maintain resident safety, dignity, and dietary preferences when preparing and serving meals
Follow facility and Dietary Department policies and procedures
Perform additional dietary duties as assigned
Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
Healthcare, skilled nursing, assisted living, or institutional food service experience preferred
Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and food-safety practices
Ability to follow menus, recipes, diet orders, and preparation instructions
Strong organization and time-management skills
Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with kitchen work
Must meet applicable health and background requirements
Required food-service certifications must be maintained as applicable to the position
Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available
Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on department needs
