Pay: $30–$33/hour
We are partnering with an established nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Accountant for a long-term, part-time consulting opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking for consistent 20–30 hour/week work with significant remote flexibility.
TheAccountant will work closely with the Director of Finance and a small accounting team, supporting day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, reporting, and a unique accounts receivable process.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport full-cycle accounting activities
Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with month-end accounting and financial reporting
Manage and troubleshoot accounts receivable activity
Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting documentation
Build, maintain, and validate Excel-based reporting and reconciliations
Identify discrepancies and independently research solutions
Partner directly with the Director of Finance on accounting needs and projects
Strong full-cycle accounting experience
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required, including:
Pivot tables
VLOOKUPs/lookups
Data reconciliation and validation
Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
Excellent attention to detail
Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently
Ability to problem-solve without significant oversight
Approximately 20–30 hours per week
Intended to be an ongoing, long-term contract
Primarily remote with the possibility of occasional onsite work, approximately once per month
Small, collaborative accounting team
Organization receives the majority of its revenue through a large state-sponsored contract
Limited grant/fund accounting requirements
$30–$33/hour, depending on experience
