ABOUT THE GATHERING AT ESUMC
The Gathering is a worshiping community within the communion of Edenton Street United Methodist Church, sharing a common vision, values, and habits of discipleship. Our community is grounded in the rhythms of Christian liturgy, discipleship, and mission, and lives with curiosity and wonder for how God is calling us to improvise in the Spirit that we might live in Christ for the flourishing of our neighbors. We welcome and rejoice in all who visit with us because hospitality and surprising friendship are at the heart of our life together in God. The Director of The Gathering helps our ministries accomplish our church's mission to worship God, love one another, and serve the world with others of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life for the purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The main responsibility is to help direct the life of The Gathering as a vibrant worshiping community, leading through musical direction, discipleship, and creative collaboration with the laity, staff, and clergy of ESUMC.
