Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations. This position oversees production department leads, personnel, schedules, safety compliance and operational performance to ensure quality, manufacturing efficiency, and on time delivery to customer specification. This role works closely with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Maintenance to support customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The production supervisor will be able to step into various positions as needed to support the manufacturing team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Leadership
· Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across SMT, through-hole assembly, hand soldering, wave and selective soldering, testing, conformal coating, inspection, and shipping operations
· Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality and delivery commitments
· Assign personnel to meet workload demands and maximize operational efficiency
· Monitor production performance and address bottlenecks, downtime, and staffing challenges
· Maintain accurate labor reporting and production records within the ERP system
· Provide guidance and training on company procedures & standards and industry best practices
· Provide feedback to management and peers regarding all aspects of shift activity, including manufacturing throughput, product quality, improvement ideas, and supply and material issues
Employee Management
· Lead, coach, and assist in the development of production employees and leads
· Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions
· Promote employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment
· Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts
· Ensure employees are trained on work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures
Quality and Compliance
· Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures
· Support ISO quality management system requirements and audits
· Partner with Quality Assurance to investigate nonconformances and customer concerns
· Partner with Quality to monitor first-pass yield, scrap, rework, and defect trends
· Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
Safety and Environmental Compliance
· Maintain a safe working environment and enforce OSHA and company safety requirements
· Participate in safety meetings and inspections
· Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions
· Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with ESD control procedures
· Support environmental and regulatory compliance requirements
Continuous Improvement
· Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
· Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, material flow, and labor utilization
· Monitor (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when goals are not achieved
Cross-Functional Coordination
· Collaborate with Production Planning to achieve schedule attainment
· Work with Engineering on process improvements, new product introductions, and manufacturing readiness
· Coordinate with Materials and Purchasing regarding shortages and production priorities
· Communicate production status, challenges, and performance metrics to management
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· High School Diploma or GED
· Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in PCB assembly, SMT, electronics manufacturing, or EMS environment
· Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to interpret production schedules, work instructions, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and utilizing ERP systems

Preferred
· Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field
· Experience in PCB assembly, SMT, electronics manufacturing, or EMS environments
· Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
· Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
· Experience with Epicor Kinetic or similar ERP systems
· Understanding of SMT equipment, AOI, selective soldering, reflow processes, and electronics testing
