The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Service Technician to support our growing North Georgia market. This position will be based in the Jasper, Georgia area and will include regular travel throughout the surrounding market, including monthly travel to Atlanta, GA and Chattanooga, TN.

A company vehicle is provided for this position.

What You'll Do

As a Service Technician, you will independently perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential standby generator systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on air-cooled and liquid-cooled generator systems with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot transfer switch issues and complete necessary repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical generator system issues.
  • Repair or replace generator accessories, including Smart Modules, remote monitoring equipment, and surge protection devices.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Identify engine and generator repair needs and assist with developing repair estimates as necessary.
  • Respond to urgent service requests.
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate repair needs clearly with customers and team members.
  • Travel throughout the North Georgia service area, including monthly travel to Atlanta and Chattanooga.

Requirements: What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in a service-related trade such as generator service, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or automotive repair preferred.
  • Previous field service experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of engines, electrical systems, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and drive in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.
