About the Role:

The Maintenance Engineer II plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of industrial equipment and facilities within the organization. This position involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, implementing effective maintenance solutions, and minimizing downtime to support continuous production operations. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop preventive maintenance programs and improve existing processes. They will also be responsible for maintaining detailed documentation of maintenance activities and compliance with safety standards. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall operational excellence and cost-effectiveness of the facility by proactively addressing maintenance challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar engineering role.
  • At least 2 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair and or carpentry trade required.
  • At least 2 years experience with knowledge of steam generation, air conditioning, compressed air and medical gases.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Must have experience with boilers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or relevant certification in maintenance or reliability engineering.
  • Experience with PLC programming and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, or energy.
  • Advanced training in safety standards such as OSHA or NFPA.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to develop and refine maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

The required skills enable the Maintenance Engineer II to effectively diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Proficiency in reading technical schematics and using diagnostic tools allows for accurate troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
