Position Overview
Our client is looking for a skilled Shop Technician to join their service team. This position focuses on diagnosing, servicing, and repairing construction and heavy equipment in a shop environment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with hydraulic and electrical systems, and the ability to perform quality repairs on a variety of equipment and manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on construction and heavy equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine servicing.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine the appropriate repairs.
- Inspect equipment to identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
- Service and repair a variety of heavy and compact construction equipment.
- Operate equipment as needed to assist with diagnostics and verify completed repairs.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Document completed work, repairs, and maintenance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
- Work with the service team to ensure equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
Qualifications
- Previous experience servicing or repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, diesel equipment, or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to identify equipment issues and complete repairs.
- Experience working with different equipment manufacturers is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
