Shop Hand / General Laborer
Evolution Tool Inc. is looking for a reliable, hardworking Shop Hand / General Laborer to join our team in Lapeer, MI.
Evolution Tool is a custom aerospace tooling manufacturer. Every tool we build is unique and made to our customers' specific requirements. This is a hands-on shop position supporting our machinists, fabricators, and tooling team.
The right candidate will be dependable, willing to learn, take pride in their work, and understand the importance of keeping a clean, safe, and organized shop.
What You'll Do
- Perform general shop and housekeeping duties throughout the facility
- Sweep floors and keep shop areas clean and organized
- Mop floors and clean up spills as needed
- Clean chips, debris, and buildup from machines and work areas as needed
- Clean machines and equipment as needed
- Empty trash and maintain clean work areas
- Load and unload materials using a forklift/Hi-Lo
- Receive hands-on training to safely operate a forklift/Hi-Lo
- Move, organize, and stage materials throughout the facility
- Assist machinists and fabricators with various shop tasks
- Help prepare materials for machining and fabrication
- Perform basic grinding, deburring, sanding, drilling, and finishing work
- Use basic hand and power tools
- Assist with moving tooling, fixtures, materials, and components throughout the shop
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Perform other general shop duties as needed

- Comfortable working around machinery, tooling, and industrial equipment
- Previous machine shop, manufacturing, warehouse, or skilled trades experience is a plus, but not required
- Forklift/Hi-Lo experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate
