Digital Media Studio ? Part Time Associate
The Joliet Public Library's Digital Media Studio, located at the downtown Ottawa Street building, is looking for a creative and customer service-oriented Associate to join our team. The DMS and its adjacent spaces include a common area, an Art Studio, a Collaboration Room, a Recording Studio, and a Green Screen Room. The ideal team player will enjoy working with audiovisual technology in a public setting and helping patrons of all ages bring their creative projects to life.
As a DMS Associate, you'll work one-on-one with patrons on audio, video, graphic design, and multimedia projects; provide technical assistance and studio tours; help create instructional materials and technology training videos; design and print flyers, posters, and banners; and assist in opening, running, and closing the Studio.
This is a permanent, part-time position.Saturday availability is required, and the ideal candidate will also be available a variety of hours, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. The final schedule will be determined in cooperation with the DMS Manager.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring a combination of education and experience that allows them to confidently use and teach the equipment and applications available in the DMS, a strong interest in technology, and the ability to learn new applications quickly. The ability to provide instruction to others, relate to patrons in a positive and patient manner, collaborate with colleagues, and work with minimal supervision is essential. Spanish language skills are a definite plus.
Compensation
The hourly pay is $22.00. This is a part-time position averaging 24-hours a week.
