Joliet Staffing is seeking an experienced Kitchen Quality Assurance Supervisor to join a leading food manufacturing and distribution facility in Minooka, IL. This position plays a critical role in ensuring food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance within ready-to-eat food production operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in food quality assurance, HACCP programs, and leading QA teams in a food manufacturing environment.

Job Summary

The Kitchen Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance activities within the kitchen production area. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards while supervising QA processes for ready-to-eat food production. The QA Supervisor will lead quality initiatives, maintain accurate documentation, support audits, and ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, allergen controls, and sanitation programs.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Kitchen QA team during production operations to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor and verify compliance with GMPs, HACCP, Risk-Based Preventive Controls, Allergen Control Programs, and SSOPs.
  • Train QA associates on kitchen procedures, food safety policies, and quality responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with customer vendor requirements, food safety standards, product specifications, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate QA records, reports, and production documentation.
  • Research and stay updated on state food code regulations and food safety requirements.
  • Manage and maintain Public Health Inspection Reports and corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine inspections of kitchen operations to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Perform internal audits and assist with third-party audit preparation.
  • Investigate customer complaints and product quality concerns in a timely manner.
  • Identify quality issues and work with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as a primary contact for regulatory agencies, including FDA, USDA, and local health inspectors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, quality, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen Supervisors, Production Management, National QA, R&D, and other leadership teams.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in Food Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, ready-to-eat production, or food distribution preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety programs and quality control procedures.
  • Experience leading or supervising QA teams preferred.
  • HACCP Certification required.
  • Allergen Awareness and GMP training preferred.
  • SQF Practitioner, Food Defense Coordinator, or PCQI certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
