Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Prior experience in educational or school-based settings strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in managing screenings, assessments, and diagnosis for diverse student populations
  • Solid understanding of IEP process and experience ensuring compliance
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
  • Capable of supporting students with mild, moderate, and severe speech/language needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Organized, flexible, and comfortable working across multiple sites

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings and in-depth evaluations to identify student needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language therapy plans aligned with each student’s IEP
  • Address a variety of communication challenges, including articulation, fluency, language, and functional communication
  • Customize approaches for students who use AAC devices, ensuring optimal integration and support
  • Collaborate with classroom staff, special educators, and families to support student progress
  • Document assessments, therapy sessions, and progress notes in accordance with district and legal standards
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and advocating for individualized student solutions
  • Travel across different schools within the district as part of an itinerant support team
