Oxbo is seeking a Manufacturing Lead to oversee daily operations within our paint department. This role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys coaching employees, coordinating work, and driving productivity in a fast-paced production environment.

The Manufacturing Lead will be responsible for assigning work, coordinating schedules and priorities, supporting quality and safety initiatives, and developing team members. While previous industrial painting experience is not required, the successful candidate must be willing to learn all aspects of the industrial painting process and develop into a working lead capable of performing paint-related duties and training others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Production Coordination

  • Lead, train, mentor, and support members of the paint team.
  • Assign daily work and monitor progress to ensure production goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate staffing, priorities, and workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
  • Communicate production priorities and departmental needs to team members and management.
  • Assist with problem-solving, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and development opportunities.

Paint Department Operations

  • Learn and become proficient in industrial painting processes and procedures.
  • Follow and complete work orders throughout the painting process.
  • Prepare, mix, and apply paint materials according to specifications.
  • Apply touch-up paint and perform paint repairs as needed.
  • Read engineering drawings and prepare parts for painting through masking and surface preparation.
  • Maintain, clean, and service paint equipment, including spray guns, paint tanks, hoses, brushes, and related equipment.
  • Identify and obtain equipment, tools, and materials needed to complete work assignments.
  • Properly execute hazardous material handling and disposal activities.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, fabrication, assembly, or industrial leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, training, coaching, or directing the work of others.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or engineering drawings.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in industrial painting, powder coating, finishing, fabrication, welding, assembly, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with manufacturing scheduling and production planning.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials in an industrial setting.
  • Experience troubleshooting production equipment and coordinating with maintenance teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, paint materials, and production equipment.
