DISC Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Operating Room RNfor our Carlsbad location. This position will have a Monday - Friday schedule. Experience with Orthopedic and spinal procedures is required.
In this position, you will:
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to gather patient history,identifypotential risks, and ensure proper preparation for surgery.
- Serve as the patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, ensuring effective communication and addressing patient concerns.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for each procedure, ensuring proper equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are available.
- Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures,maintaininga sterilefieldand providing continuous patient monitoring.
- Administer medications andassistthe anesthesia team as needed.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team tofacilitatea smooth and efficient operation.
- Accurately document all aspects of the surgical process, including patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols tomaintaina safe and sterile surgical environment.
- Monitor patients during the immediate postoperative period, providing post-anesthesiacareand managing any complications that may arise.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of patient outcomes and safety protocols.
To ensure success in this role, you must have:
- Active CARN License
- Current BLS and ACLS certification or ability to obtain within90 daysof hire
- 2-3 years of OR experience in acute care or surgery center
To stand out as an applicant, we would prefer:
- CNOR certification
- Knowledge in Pain, Spine,and/orOrthopedicprocedures
- Pre-Op and Post Op experience
- PALS certification
Pay Range: $55.00- $65.00/hour
