Title: Construction Project Manager – Repair & Strengthening
Location: Darien, IL
Schedule: Hybrid schedule, 3 days per week in office
Employment Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Salary: $125,000-$130,000 per year

Join a global construction and infrastructure technology organization supporting major infrastructure projects across 50+ countries. This is an opportunity for an experienced construction project manager to take ownership of projects that directly contribute to the safety, durability, and long-term performance of critical infrastructure. The work centers primarily around structural repair and strengthening, including post-tensioning and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) systems, across heavy civil and commercial infrastructure markets.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, coordinate, and direct assigned repair and strengthening projects from initial planning through completion.
  • Develop project execution strategies designed to deliver work safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Develop site-specific safety execution plans and maintain a strong focus on job-site safety throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish clear accountability and coordinated execution plans with internal teams, clients, engineers, vendors, and operational personnel.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineers, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the financial performance of assigned projects and work to meet approved budget expectations.
  • Utilize Navision for Job Progress Report management and monthly financial reporting.
  • Develop project handoff and operational plans and communicate them effectively to project teams.
  • Monitor project execution to identify potential risks, opportunities, performance issues, and customer needs.
Estimating & Business Development Support:
  • Read and interpret construction contracts and manage projects in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare labor and material cost estimates to support sales and business development activities.
  • Research and obtain competitive pricing for materials and third-party services.
  • Prepare completed project estimates for presentation to business development and management teams.
Technical Project Management:
  • Manage the preparation and submission of shop drawings, work plans, and technical project submittals.
  • Review engineering drawings and apply technical knowledge to project execution.
  • Coordinate technical requirements between engineering, operations, customers, vendors, and field teams.
  • Apply knowledge of structural repair and strengthening systems to develop practical project solutions.
Qualifications:
  • A four-year college degree preferred, ideally in Engineering, Construction, or another technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in civil construction, heavy construction, DOT, bridge construction, or a similar construction environment is required.
  • Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings and construction contracts.
  • Thorough understanding of post-tensioning systems, carbon fiber systems, structural repair and strengthening systems, or the ability to develop this knowledge quickly.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, Crew Tracks, Navision, and Microsoft Office, or the ability to learn these systems quickly.
