Civil Engineer

Furtado & Associates, Inc. (F&A) is a dynamic consulting firm based in Seattle WA, specializing in innovative land surveying, geospatial services, construction management, and engineering solutions. We are a privately held firm working on a variety of community improving infrastructure projects throughout the Puget Sound region, including Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail Extensions, King County CSO Program, and with various City and County agencies on utility, port and corridor projects. Our team currently has an opening for an experienced individual to fill the role of Civil Engineer. In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for working with the Project Manager to ensure project delivery. Job Responsibilities:

The Civil Engineer will work under the direction of the Project Manager, assisting on large engineering projects.F&A works primarily on large public works projects in the Seattle area, and in this role you will be helping our clients deliver on these important projects.

Job responsibilities will include,but are not limited to:

• Help manage and oversee project deliverables to ensure that client expectations are being met

• Continually coordinate with Engineering staff and all other departments

• Review and processdrawings and submittals

• Review plans and specifications

• Perform engineering calculations and design

• Assistwith preparing engineering/technical documents

• Preparation of plans using CADD

• Perform research and review of agency standards

• Other duties as assigned by Project Manager
• Prepare and review Legal Descriptions

Qualifications&Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent

• 1-3 yearsof experience in engineering

• Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable

• Basic understanding ofAutoCAD Civil 3D,Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePointprograms

• Ability to quickly learn other supporting software a plus

• Fundamental knowledge of engineering, landsurveyingor construction

• Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and able to complete assignments quickly and ina timelyfashion
