LHH is proactively seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and organized Logistics Inventory Coordinator to support one of our clients on a contract basis in the Houston area. This role is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, coordinating logistics activities, monitoring supply levels, and supporting efficient warehouse and distribution operations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $32.00/hr (DOE)

Role Summary
As a Logistics Inventory Coordinator, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating shipments, monitoring stock levels, and supporting supply chain operations. You will work closely with warehouse, purchasing, transportation, and operations teams to ensure products are received, stored, and distributed efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing inventory while keeping logistics processes running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded within company systems.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide updates to management.
Logistics Coordination
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely delivery of products and materials.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, bills of lading, and related records.
  • Communicate shipment status and resolve transportation issues as needed.
Warehouse Support
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure inventory accuracy and proper product handling.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory replenishment activities.
  • Support warehouse organization and inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory and storage best practices.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Maintain inventory databases and logistics tracking systems.
  • Analyze inventory trends, usage patterns, and stock requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare routine reports regarding inventory performance and logistics activity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service teams.
  • Coordinate inventory availability to support customer orders and production schedules.
  • Assist with forecasting and inventory planning initiatives.
  • Provide support for special projects and process improvement efforts.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records for inventory movements and logistics activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and inventory control procedures.
  • Support inventory audits and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with maintaining operational documentation and SOPs.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • 2-4+ years of inventory control, logistics, warehouse coordination, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience managing inventory transactions and shipment tracking.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, oil & gas, industrial, or transportation industry experience preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, JDE, etc.).
  • Strong data entry, reporting, and inventory analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation and logistics processes.
