Job Summary
The Inspector III serves as the senior-level quality inspection professional responsible for complex inspection activities, quality analysis, and technical support within the die casting operation. This position provides leadership to inspection personnel, supports customer quality requirements, and plays a key role in continuous improvement and quality system effectiveness.
What You Will Do
· Lead inspection activities involving complex die cast products, critical dimensions, and customer-specific requirements.
· Perform advanced dimensional analysis using CMMs and other sophisticated measurement systems.
· Review and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
· Lead first article inspections, PPAP submissions, capability studies, and validation activities.
· Analyze quality data and identify trends impacting product quality and process performance.
· Investigate significant nonconformances and lead root cause analysis efforts using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
· Support customer visits, audits, and quality investigations.
· Review and disposition nonconforming materials within delegated authority.
· Assist Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers with process validations and improvement projects.
· Develop inspection methods, work instructions, and training materials.
· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Inspectors I and II.
· Support compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards.
What You Will Bring
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Associate degree or technical certification is preferred.
· 5–8+ years of progressive quality inspection experience in manufacturing.
· Extensive experience in die casting, machining, automotive, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments.
Nice To Haves
· Expert blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
· Advanced knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques.
· Proficiency with CMM operation and reporting.
· Strong understanding of SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and capability studies.
· Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.
· Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
· Ability to make independent quality decisions affecting production and customer requirements.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
· Frequent standing and walking.
· Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
· Ability to perform detailed inspections and operate precision measurement equipment.
· Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments with varying temperature
