Take 2 Recycling, a subsidiary of EWASTE+, has immediate openings for a Class B driverwho islooking for a local position that allows them to come home every day! We are looking for drivers who have at least 1 year experience driving a 24'-26' box truck. (open to meet with newly licensed drivers as well)
About the Position:
Take 2 Recycling serves 100+ towns and businesses in Connecticut for secure electronics recycling. Our drivers travel to scheduled Municipal Transfer Stations and business sites to fulfill pick-ups of electronic waste. Customer pick-up sites range from outdoor 20'-40' storage containers to office buildings and other similar facilities. Take 2 has a fleet of six 26' leased box trucks with lift gates. Overtime is required during our busy times of the year.
Our drivers are expected to consistently provide timely, professional, and courteous service to our customers. At pick-up sites, the driver, sometimes accompanied with a helper will be required to sort and label material to comply with company policies and state laws. Drivers will strategically package gaylord boxes and palatalize TVs to maximize the amount of equipment carried in the truck while complying with CMV weight limitations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform regular pickups at customer sites as scheduled with focus consistent on company goals for safety, compliance, and customer service.
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers
- Oversee and lead the helper throughout the entire working shift including but not limited to while on the road and at Take 2 (if a helper is assigned)
- Complete all required paperwork, including BOL, DVIR, Log (when required), and Take 2/client specific documentation.
- Report status and receive updates in schedule via company provided tablet.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and laws and company policies and procedures related to safety, transportation, and environmental compliance at all times, including while on the road and at customer sites.
- Load/unload trucks and replenish supplies as needed (receiving team typically offloads trucks)
- Operate forklift, pallet jack and other material handling equipment as needed. ( we will provide forklift certification if needed)
- Maintain vehicle in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues to the Logistics Manager.
- Always adhere to all safety and security procedures.
Compensation
- $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
- Bi-weekly Pay
- Eligible for wage increase after probationary period and during yearly reviews
Schedule
- Monday-Friday starting at 5:30am
- Rotating Saturday Shifts
