About the Role:
We are seeking a sharp and driven Controller/Finance Manager to join our team in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
- Manage the financial reporting process, including budgeting, forecasting, benefits maintenance package, government surveys, and variance analysis.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing.
- Serve as a lead player in the month-end and year-end close processes (qtr. review and YE full audit), including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance financial controls and efficiency.
- Provide leadership and collaborate with the finance team.
- Appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and multi-entity financials
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders
