Welding Machine Operator

Are you an experienced MIG Welder looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with room for growth? We are seeking a MIG Pipe Welder / Welding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team producing high-quality fire sprinkler system components.
In this role, you'll work with both automated welding equipment and hands-on MIG welding techniques to fabricate carbon steel pipe assemblies. If you have welding experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment, and take pride in producing quality work, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do
Weld carbon steel outlets onto steel pipe used in fire sprinkler systems.
Operate automated and semi-automated welding equipment.
Perform manual MIG (GMAW) welding on pipe assemblies, spool pieces, and flanges.
Inspect welds for quality, alignment, dimensions, and defects.
Repair weld discontinuities and failed welds as needed.
Read work orders, production paperwork, and welding instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while meeting production goals.
What We're Looking For
At least 1 year of MIG (GMAW) welding experience.
At least 1 year of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Experience working in a fabrication, welding, or manufacturing setting.
Ability to identify weld defects and perform repairs.
Basic computer and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Carbon steel pipe welding experience.
Pipe fabrication experience.
Experience welding outlets, spool pieces, and flanges.
Fire sprinkler industry experience.
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates will complete a hands-on welding test during the interview:
Weld a 1-inch outlet onto a 2-inch steel pipe using the MIG (GMAW) process.
Weld will be evaluated through visual inspection.
Candidates must bring their own welding hood/helmet.
