Position Summary
The Senior Data Platform Engineer – Data Management is responsible for Data Management, Data Masking, Data Scrubbing, and overall Non-Production Data handling at Oncourse Home Solutions. The engineer will design, maintain, and operate data scrubbing and masking processes across AWS, Oracle, and Snowflake using enterprise masking and scrubbing tools such as Delphix, K2view, or similar platforms, along with customized masking scripts where needed. The role also manages end-to-end Production-to-Non-Production refresh pipelines. The engineer also carries operational ownership of AWS database infrastructure (RDS, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB) supporting Dev, QA, UAT, and Production environments, and serves as the internal SME for data masking, database management, and AWS data infrastructure.
Located at our office in Naperville, IL.Ouroffice environment is a key driver of ourcompanyculture and employee experience, so a regular in-office hybrid model (generally T-THin office and M & F remote) is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own and administer the enterprise data masking platform (e.g., Delphix, K2View, or equivalent), including installation, upgrades, patching, and license management
- Build and maintain a masking rule library covering PII, PCI, PHI, and other regulated data classifications (SSNs, credit cards, DOB, account numbers, etc.)
- Manage end-to-end DB refresh workflows: snapshot, backup, restore, and mask pipelines from Production to Dev/QA/UAT environments in AWS

- Implement dynamic masking policies that intercept and obfuscate sensitive data at query time for role-based access in non-production environments
- Manage and optimize AWS-managed database services including RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB
- Monitor database performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and RDS Enhanced Monitoring; proactively tune queries and configurations
- Oversee storage scaling, IOPS tuning, and right-sizing exercises to optimize cost and performance
- Automate refresh, masking, and provisioning pipelines using Python, Shell scripting, AWS Lambda, or Step Functions
- Implement event-driven automation for routine DBA tasks (snapshots, alerts, cleanup of stale environments)
- Lead the creation of a Non-Production Data Management framework, ensuring every non-prod environment is provably free of production-sensitive data

Experience and Qualifications of the Role:
- 10 years of experience in Data Engineering and Database Administration, with 5+ years in AWS, 3+ years operating a data masking platform, and a strong automation-first mindset
- Administer and own the enterprise data masking platform (Delphix, K2View, or equivalent) including upgrades, masking job management, and rule library maintenance for PII, PCI, and PHI data classifications
- Design and implement static and dynamic masking strategies bulk masking for DB refreshes and real-time, role-based obfuscation at query time for non-production environments
- Manage end-to-end Production-to-Non-Production refresh pipelines RDS/Aurora snapshot-based backup, restore, and mandatory masking workflows across Dev, QA, and UAT environments in AWS
- Administer AWS database services RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB, including Multi-AZ, read replicas, performance tuning, and cost optimization
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for all database and data privacy resources using Terraform or CloudFormation, with full CI/CD pipeline integration
- Automate database operations refresh pipelines, environment provisioning, snapshot lifecycle, and masking workflows using Python, AWS Lambda, and Step Functions
- Establish and enforce Non-Production Data Management standards ensuring no production-sensitive data ever reaches lower environments unmasked; own audit evidence and compliance documentation
- Ensure regulatory compliance across GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS partnering with Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to define and enforce data privacy policies
- Act as the internal SME for data masking, database management, and AWS data infrastructure mentoring engineers, influencing best practices, and driving adoption across teams
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, orrelatedfieldrequired.Equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience in Data Engineering in AWS cloud on multiple Data Base types will be considered or equivalent work experience required

We offer a compelling total rewards package that includes a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits to support your total wellbeing. The base pay range for this position is$118,235 - $157,500 Annual. The specific pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, education and skill set. The compensation offered may also include an annual performance-based bonus, sales incentive plan or commission target.
