Job Description

Engineering Rotational Program – Entry-Level / New Graduates

International Wheel & Tire is seeking five entry-level engineers and technically driven problem-solvers to join our Engineering Rotational Program.

This program is designed for recent college graduates and junior-level technical candidates who want hands-on experience with industrial automation, machinery, robotics, controls, software, and R&D.

Participants will rotate through different engineering disciplines, gaining real-world experience before transitioning into an area that best matches their skills, interests, and IWT's needs.

What You'll Work On

Depending on your background and rotation, you may:

  • Assist with the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of automated machinery.
  • Support mechanical design, CAD, prototypes, fixtures, and machine improvements.
  • Work with electrical systems, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, controls, and instrumentation.
  • Gain exposure to robotics, servo systems, motion control, and automation.
  • Support software, programming, machine communications, and data acquisition.
  • Participate in R&D, prototype development, testing, validation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Work alongside Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Software, Robotics, and R&D engineers.

Who We're Looking For

Recent graduates or junior-level candidates with education or experience in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Robotics
  • Computer Engineering / Computer Science
  • Programming / Software Development
  • Physics
  • Automation, Electronics, or related technical fields

Prior professional engineering experience is not required.

Experience from college projects, internships, robotics teams, hobbies, personal projects, or technical employment is valuable.

Technical Skills That Stand Out

Exposure to any of the following is a plus:

SolidWorks/CAD • Robotics • PLCs/HMIs • Automation • Sensors • Electrical Systems • Pneumatics • Servo/Motion Control • Python • C/C++ • Arduino • Raspberry Pi • Computer Hardware • Networking • Software Development

Are You a "Techie"?

We're especially interested in naturally curious people who enjoy figuring out how things work.

Maybe you've built your own computer, programmed a robot, worked with Arduino/Raspberry Pi, repaired electronics, built machines, written software, worked on cars, or you're the person everyone calls when technology stops working.

If you're hands-on, technically curious, enjoy troubleshooting, and want to build a career in engineering, automation, robotics, machinery, or technology, we want to meet you.

Why IWT?

This isn't a traditional entry-level engineering position where you'll be limited to one narrow area. You'll gain exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and technologies while working on real machines, real automation projects, and real engineering challenges.

The goal of the program is to develop participants and ultimately transition successful candidates into long-term positions within IWT's Engineering, R&D, Automation, Controls, Robotics, or Software teams.
