We're seeking motivated Data Center Technicians to join a growing team supporting large-scale data center construction and infrastructure projects in Burlington, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in cabling, telecommunications, construction, low-voltage systems, or other hands-on technical environments who want to build a career in one of the fastest-growing sectors in technology. Per diem is available for qualified travelers.

All new hires will complete a comprehensive two-week training program through Learning Alliance and TEKsystems before going onsite, providing the technical and safety foundation needed to succeed in a data center environment.

What You'll DoData Center Infrastructure Installation
  • Install and support structured cabling systems, including single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
  • Install cable pathways, ladder racks, fiber trays, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities and cable routing within data center environments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, cable schedules, and network diagrams.
  • Ensure work is completed according to project schedules and quality standards.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Assist with fiber termination, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Utilize testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and visual fault locators (VFLs).
  • Identify and help resolve connectivity and cabling issues.
  • Maintain proper cable labeling, management, and documentation standards.
  • Support quality control efforts to ensure installations meet project specifications.
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety and OSHA compliance.
  • Follow site-specific safety requirements and utilize proper PPE.
  • Identify potential job-site hazards and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Promote safe work practices and a team-first mentality.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate installation records and test documentation.
  • Complete daily reports and progress updates.
  • Assist with project closeout and as-built documentation.
Qualifications
  • Experience in data centers, telecommunications, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, construction, or related field work.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic and Cat5/Cat6 cabling installations.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and project documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Comfortable working in active construction and data center environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining productivity independently.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
