Who Our Client Is:
Our client is a rapidly growing global organization that was recently carved out from a large pharmaceutical company. The business is scaling quickly, both organically and through acquisition, and is building out its finance function to support that growth.
What Our Client Needs:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to partner with the Controller and Assistant Controller on accurate financial reporting, policy design, and compliance. This role is critical to ensuring the organization's financials are sound and that it is well positioned for continued growth following its recent carve-out.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Complete month-end and year-end close responsibilities, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
- Prepare supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts and provide variance analysis
- Oversee daily accounting functions, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations
- Support preparation of financial reports for senior management, including variance analysis and key metrics
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and procedures across accounting activities
- Assist in external audit preparation and liaise with auditors
- Assist in managing tax filings, including sales and property tax compliance
- Implement improvements in accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and compliance
- Participate in special accounting projects and ad hoc analyses
- Identify root causes of issues in financial processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Design, document, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to strengthen controls and efficiency
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Multi-national, pharma/med device industry experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical accounting issues
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience implementing accounting policies and internal controls
What They Offer:
- Compensation range of $120,000 to $140,000
