Planning Assistant Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Planning Assistant Coordinator to support production planning and supply chain operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with data, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating across departments to ensure production schedules run smoothly.

The position will work heavily within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and requires strong Excel and data management skills.

• Provide administrative support to the Planning team, including data entry, filing, and document management
• Maintain planning schedules, reports, spreadsheets, and production records
• Review inventory levels and raw material availability to support production schedules
• Identify shortages and communicate inventory-related concerns
• Generate and manage production work orders
• Track orders and update planning systems with accurate information
• Prepare and distribute routine reports and planning documents
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding production schedules and planning activities
• Ensure planning data is maintained accurately and efficiently within D365

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
  • Pivot Tables
  • Data Analysis
  • Charts and Graphs
  • Spreadsheet troubleshooting and maintenance
• Experience working with large volumes of data
• Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Previous experience supporting production planning, supply chain, manufacturing, or inventory-related operations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Experience working within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
• Food manufacturing or production environment experience

• Approximately two weeks of structured onboarding and training
• Ongoing coaching and support from leadership
• Hands-on learning of production planning processes and D365 workflows
• Growth opportunity through a contract-to-hire pathway

This position is located within a production office connected to a manufacturing facility. Employees should be comfortable working in an active production setting that may include:

• Exposure to production equipment and machinery
• Forklift traffic throughout the facility
• Manufacturing-related odors and aromas
• Elevated noise levels
• A fast-paced environment with constant activity

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, IL.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
